Tiny House Plans, Tiny Home plans, Tiny Homes, Tiny Houses, Tiny House Builder, Tiny Homes Builder, small houses, small house plansIt is a gorgeous morning here in New Mexico, temperature is now around 45 degrees, the sun is shining and not a cloud in site. I’m sitting inside Bull O’ The Woods, a long time iconic bar and grill that offers some really fun atmosphere, as well as variety of food; including some incredible Angus burgers. Tim Coon, the owner also owns Timbers here in Red River, which offers a variety of items on its menu; including steak and lobster.
Tiny House Plans, Tiny Home plans, Tiny Homes, Tiny Houses, Tiny House Builder, Tiny Homes Builder, small houses, small house plansAs I’m writing this blog, I can’t help but be in awe of just how great Red River really is. I wish I could stay longer, but am about to head up into Colorado for a couple of months to work on new plan designs. I want to thank Mike Patel, manger at the Best Western, Rivers Edge Lodge for his hospitality.
I’m currently on an extended tour of popular resort/vacation towns in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma and Arkansas, looking for possible locations to build a few model homes for Texas Tiny Homes.

Amarillo: I left Dallas Fort Worth 8-days ago, and the first stop was in my beloved hometown, Amarillo. I spent 3-days there and had a really great time. While there I spent some time checking out a friend and a Texas Tiny Homes plan customer’s “off the grid” home, located just outside of town. Toby also gave me a tour of a master planned, eco development he is involved with developing, that consists of over 600 acres. Its going to be quite an unusual development, and am excited he purchased a couple of Texas Tiny Homes plans to build in the development.

This is Toby’s personal home that he and his wife, and their 2 kids occupy. The off the grid home is truly off the grid. It does not even have access to city water or electricity. The water for the home is captured rain water, which is held in a large holding tank, and then purified before it is used. Solar panels provide the electrical requirements, which aren’t a lot based on how the home energy efficient it was designed and built. The unique home doesn’t have, or really need an HVAC system, due to the 14″ thick exterior walls and foam insulation incorporated into the during construction. It was 80 degree’s outside that day and went inside and could not believe how cool it was. I will expand later on the technology involved with building it, and the building below, which is still under construction, and features a live garden roof.

Available Plans

We just tweaked the website to make it more “Smart Phone” friendly; per viewing and purchasing our plans. The 9 plans we currently have available are now all featured on a single page in our site by clicking on; Available Plans. The plans drop down menu was removed because it did not work with some smart phones, neither did the shopping carts, which now appear to be working properly.

Texas Tiny Homes is also in the process of designing some new plans, as well as are bringing in a couple of plans from an awesome California Architect. His plans are ultra modern and we are very excited that we’ll soon be offering his plans to our future clients, and DIY’s.

We are also about to begin offering a few different size backyard storage shed’s, that can be shipped and installed in your backyard, or site built if access is limited. Plans for the shed’s will also be made available for those who wish to build their own.

Thank-you for your continued support, and have a great, but safe Saint Patrick’s Day weekend!

A lot of folks never chose solar as an energy option because of the learning curve and difficulty in setting the entire system up. The Goal Zero Yeti 1250 solar generator makes getting on solar very simple. Unbox it, plug the solar panels into the generator, put them in the sun, and start gathering solar energy. Considering the small amount of energy needed to power up a tiny house, the Yeti 1250 system is an ideal choice to easily get off the grid.

The Goal Zero system is a solid and easy-to-use product. Find out more about it at Tiny House Gear.
