Built in the 1920’s, the barn features wide-plank wood floors and hand-hewn beams. The entire ground floor is an open-plan living space. The original barn doors were replaced by a pair of French doors giving a view of farm fields with the Catskill Mountains in the distance.
What started as a hobby evolved into what you see today at the Ranch. Outside of the normal routine of touring and writing music, Kevin collects and restores buildings that have a unique history. Each structure has been carefully crafted back to a state which honors its history and location. Everything on the Ranch has a story that we are anxious to tell people about. We stay busy making sure that bits of history don’t get lost to a landfill and in the process give something back to everybody that comes through our gates. It’s this level of care that ensures that each person we get to share this with walks away with a personal experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the Hill Country. Nestled at the edge of a rambling stream, a century old forest, and a quiet apple orchard at Half Mile Farm sits a collection of Highlands’ most distinctive, luxury cabins. These cabins, originally erected in various locations across the Southeast, were carefully dismantled and reconstructed here among the beauty of large hemlock trees and countless rhododendrons. 
The building designs were developed with the intent to complement the natural landscape. The most significant features of the property are the creek, dense woods, open meadows, and ponds. Specifically, thoughtful consideration was given to placement of balconies, windows, and doors, to maximize the privacy and serenity of our guest experience. 
Cabin interiors are charmingly appointed with antique and reproduction period furniture and folk art. Architecturally, you will find vintage paneling, half-timbering, and log work, historic brick and stonework, wide-plank floors, massive oak beams, slab stone hearths, and subtle modern conveniences that all come together to create a most unique atmosphere.

The Broadmoor is a 5 Star, 779 room hotel and resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is a member of Historic Hotels of America of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. 
The main resort complex, situated at the base of Cheyenne Mountain, is 6,230 feet (1,900 m) above sea level, and 5 miles southwest of downtown Colorado Springs. The resort has hotel, conference, sports, and spa buildings that radiate out from Cheyenne Lake.
Historically, national and world skating and hockey championships were held at the Broadmoor World Arena. Golf championships have been held at the Broadmoor Golf Club since 1921. The resort has also been the site of clay shooting championships.
The architecture and the color is like the grand hotels that would be found on the coast of the Mediterranean, in an Italian Renaissance style. The pink stucco of the façade also helps to blend in to the Pikes Peak area landscape.[10] The main buildings are connected on a circular path around a lake. They original hotel building is Broadmoor Main that was built in 1918. The others—built between 1961 and 2001—are Broadmoor South, Broadmoor West, Lakeside Suites and West Tower.
